Frequently asked questions.

Is the market for Indonesian coconut products currently stable?

Yes. As of Q4 2025, the market has entered a "New Normal" phase. After significant volatility earlier this year caused by raw material shortages and El Niño effects, export prices for Desiccated Coconut and Coconut Oil have stabilized for over 13 consecutive weeks. While current prices are higher than the historical average of 2023-2024, the supply chain is now predictable and balanced.

Why are prices higher than they were a year ago?

The price baseline has shifted due to structural changes in the raw material market in Indonesia. Two main factors drove this:

  1. Raw Material Competition: Earlier in 2025, a surge in raw coconut exports to China reduced domestic availability for local mills.

  2. Climate Impact: The tail end of El Niño reduced harvest yields in key regions like Sumatra and Sulawesi. Note: Current prices reflect these factors "priced in," meaning we do not expect further sharp spikes, making it safe to book forward.

How does the new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) affect coconut imports?

This is a major advantage for our customers. Unlike Palm Oil, Cocoa, and Coffee, Coconut is currently excluded from the list of commodities strictly regulated under the initial phase of EUDR (Regulation (EU) 2023/1115) taking effect in December 2025. This makes Indonesian Coconut Oil and Desiccated Coconut an excellent, low-risk alternative for European buyers looking for compliant plant-based ingredients without the heavy administrative burden of deforestation due diligence required for Palm Oil.

Which ports do you ship from?

We primarily ship from Surabaya (Tanjung Perak) and Jakarta (Tanjung Priok). Surabaya is often preferred for coconut products sourced from Eastern Indonesia (Sulawesi), offering competitive freight rates and efficient handling.
